The optional battery pack provides the function of battery backup, avoiding unexpected power disruption which causes data loss or fatalities. With UL60601-1, EN60601-1 and IEC60601-1 approval for the products and ISO13485 and ISO14001 QMS and EMS standards for the production ONYX Healthcare´s Medical Stations are scalable computing designed for easier integration with new as well as existing HIS configurations and systems. The used high contrast TFT LCD displays and the integrated Intel ® Pentium M or Celeron M TM processors makes them the perfect solution for Cart and Trolly medical applications. IP65 rated front panels ensure water and dust resistance for easy cleaning, easy disinfection as well as high reliability.

The ONYX 154 and 174 has an PCI slot, Mini-PCI slot or Mini-Card slot, allowing powerful system expansion capabilities. The expansion slots enable easy connection with video capture cards, communication modules and card reading modules.

The most significant feature of ONYX 154/174 is the battery backup function in combination with the Low Power System Solution. This function is essential to hospital Cart and Trolly applications. They could last for 30 minutes if the external power supply has been shut down.
